Summer of Blog 2005

MooAlex
In early August, during one of my frequent blog droughts over at MooAlex, I thought, "Wouldn't it be fun to have a blogger's summer photo album?" So I asked my regular readers to send in their favorite summer photos and to spread the word. As you can see, they did, bless their hearts! Labor Day is around the corner, but Summer 2005 still has a few little drops left if you still want to send a photo. It can be vacation, work, family, partying, whatever! Send your photo to me at mooalex at gmail dot com along with a brief description.

As most MooAlex readers already know, the MooChef family vacationed this summer in Nags Head on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We celebrated the Fourth of July on the beach, shopped at places with dirty names, tried on goofy hats, climbed a lighthouse and giant dunes, acted like pirates, and had a great time during this first family vacation with the Chef. See more vacation pics here.

Captain Picard
Captain Picard had a particularly good time on his holodeck vacation this year! He says, "I've sent you two pictures of my vacation in Portugal in June. The one with me and the cars in is a classy Portuguese shopping centre. The cars are a 1949 Riley (right) and a 1968 TR6 (left). The other is me by a tree."

retrospect
E says, "This is the beach right outside of the beach house we rented on Folly Beach - just outside of Charleston, SC. My husband's family has gone to Folly every year since he was a teenager and we all still make the trek every year. It's the only time his entire family is together during the year. We rent houses right on the water and this is the view from right off the deck of our house. It was a dreary day when this picture was taken, but it's one of my favorite places to go."
Whatchu Tawkin Bout
Chatty didn't give any details when she sent this photo, but isn't it lovely?

Courtney
says, "I'm the one on the right taking the picture. My sister is in the foreground. This was taken at a birthday party for our other sister."
Home Fires
Lois Lane says, "We've had a great summer. I hope you have too!

Summer Swim (below): Here are my kids, my best friend's kids and a couple nieces and nephews enjoying a nice summer day in the pool."

Lois also made a great slideshow of her summer photos. Take a look!

Loose Leaf: Notes from a Writer's Journal

Contemplating the cure? Colleen and her sister, Sherry, at Rockport, Massachusetts. Read about it here.
Finn's Space
Kathryn sent some beautiful photos! She says, "We aren't taking official summer holidays this year, so are enjoying our own fair city (Vancouver) --- wine tastings with the mutts, yogathons, tall ships, etc. The one "trip" we took, last week to wine country, we forgot the bloody camera --- typical!"

Ninja Poodles
Belinda and her family had a special surprise this summer... "A foal we didn't expect, from a 25-year-old mare we've thought was barren for the last 3 years!"

a cat named pi
One of my favorite blogfriends, Ms. Q says, "I have been away but here is my only picture of summer. What I did: graduated in May, worked like a dog all the rest of the summer. No rest for the weary or the wicked or whatever." Congrats, Ms. Q!!!

A Dose of Xtessa
Here's Xtessa performing her Goddess duties for Adventures in Cyberia, a great blog about a Sims2 world using real bloggers as characters!

My Life (nobody else would want it!)
My oldest blog buddy, Dave, said I could post this photo of him "having lunch with a four-pound friend in Noank, Connecticut." Mmm, yummy!

Biscuit's Blog
Biscuit says, "Spent a week in New England, enjoying all the sights sounds and TASTES! that's right possums... Lobsters and clams! (and Sam's Italian subs, something you can't get in Hotlanta!) It was joyous! The weather was absolutely stunning.. coming from 95 degree heat with 100% humidity to the mid 70's was spectacular.. We spent a day at Pemaquid Point (pictured) which is what is known as the rocky coast.. It is so great to sit and watch the lobstermen and women bring in their traps, and listen to the ocean gently lap at the rocks.. You can walk right down to near the water, though I don't suggest getting too close.. barnacles and human flesh don't really mesh.. I've seen more than one person come back a bloody mess trying to get into the water from the shore..
It is a great place to just sit and think, or write poetry or listen to music (through headphones of course!) It is one of my favorite places on this earth.. If you've never been there before, I highly recommend visiting the coast of Maine.. it is a spiritual experience."

Janet attended her first Jewish Orthodox wedding this summer. Of course, she blogged all about it. Read more...
